Is This A Bad Idea?

Well...I went and did something I never thought I would do.
I joined an online dating website.
So far so good I guess. I mean I just joined Sunday night and I've gotten a lot of responses so far. But there sure a lot of "absolutely not interested"s to sort through. I guess I shouldn't complain though. I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes.

As far as everything else, I've been realllllllly busy with just...fucking everything. I'm moving in like 2 1/2 weeks and I've barely begun to pack. Not to mention I gotta get movers and everything else. UGH! I hate moving. It'll be worth it though. I just wish I could fast forward to May already! I've been really stressed, and not getting enough sleep too, which has made blogging hard. So bear with me over the next couple weeks if I don't write much. I'm not going to disappear again, don't worry!

Here are a few tips from someone who has taken on the online dating gauntlet!
-Be wary of someone who only has one picture, also guys who only have photos of themselves taken in bathroom mirrors. I mean really, you don't have friends that can take your picture?
-Try to meet for drinks, not dinner* within the first week of talking to them. (Creates less expectations if there is no chemistry in person.) Lots of email exchanges back and forth can create a false sense of knowing someone and a lot of these guys will text/email for weeks and then not EVER follow through with actually meeting you.
-Any guy that gets overly flirty, dropping sexual innuendos before you have ever even met is a red flag!

I had so many funny encounters I started a blog for a while. Here's the link for some quality dating site gems.

Online dating can be fun.. Just be smart about it. If they seem too "smooth" they are probably players and serial online daters. Go with your instinct and reach out to (or answer) the guys who seem normal and down to earth and even a bit goofy. Make SURE you do not give them your address or have them pick you up. Do NOT go to their house until you know them better. Meet in a public place for your first few dates and make sure a friend has his name, number and info.

You can't be too careful...

I always had fun with online dating. Then I'd get tired of it and stop for awhile, and then try it again. I met some great guys thru dating sites.
