Put Out

Well I tried calling Evan once last night, and once today and he still hasn't answered. I left him a funny message today though so maybe...
Last night Matt and I made some tentative plans. I asked what he was doing, and he said he had a work dinner thing, but that he was free after, and he didn't think it would last too long. So I told him I might be out, and to text me if he wanted to meet up. He said, "For sure, I'll keep you posted."
So then I went and showered, put on makeup and fixed my hair, and he ended up not texting me again till 12:30am! He said his work thing ran late and he was just gonna go home and go to bed. I was already in bed by that point cuz I got so tired. So of course, I got all ready to go for no reason and ended up just staying home. I thought maybe I'd hear from him today, but I didn't. :(
I'm still hoping that maybe he'll show up at the bar sometime this weekend though. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm at the point now where this whole thing with Matt could go south, really quick. As in, if I don't hear from him soon, I'm gonna just assume he's not interested and forget about him. At least...try to forget about him. But I'm gonna make sure I look really hot at work this weekend just in case.
I am actually really looking forward to Brazil coming home. He gets in on Saturday, as opposed to Sunday as I had originally thought, so he said he might stop by the bar that night, if he isn't too tired from the flight. Just one more reason to look superhot for work this weekend! At least one of them better show up! I'm so sick of going out of my way to do shit for guys when nothing comes out of it. i.e. getting waxed and going back on birth control before I went home for Christmas so that Gavin and I could hook up which never happened!!! I'm still pissed off about that, and I'm just done. I mean we had a great thing going for a while there, but I'm not going to let anyone continuously blow me off and then expect me to just be available at their earliest convenience. Fuck that!
That's the one good thing about Brazil. I feel comfortable enough with him now that I can really tell it like it is. And if he really likes me then he's going to have to satisfy some of my uneasiness and answer some of my questions. But he knows I'm a pretty no-nonsense person, and so far it hasn't scared him off. I just hope it isn't awkward, or disappointing when we finally see each other again. I guess I'll know after this weekend. If I don't see him Saturday, I'm sure I'll see him Sunday.
Well I'm off to bed. The sky has been vomiting snow all day and I still haven't warmed up from my walk home from the train. My covers are beckoning...

An Old Friend

I just remembered that last night I had a dream about Evan. His birthday was a couple days ago. I can't remember much about the dream, except that he and I were hanging out together. And we were having a good time. And I woke up sad. I sent him a text message that said, "Happy Late Birthday!" He never responded, of course. I don't know why I can't just get over the fact that he and I aren't friends anymore. It just really, really hurts. He's such a great guy, so funny, and a lot of fun. He was like my best guy friend, other than Todd. I think about him every time I watch Seinfeld. And I just wanna be like, "Hey Evan, remember that episode where-" but I can't. Because he basically broke up with me. Like...friend dumped me. I wanna tell him how much it hurts that he did that, but I don't know if he'd even answer my phone call! He didn't even try to get in contact me when I moved to Chicago. ((Sigh)) Maybe it's his wife. Maybe she knows we have a weird past. Maybe she doesn't trust me or feel comfortable letting Evan hang out with me or something. But to me, all that stuff that happened between us doesn't matter anymore. I just wish I could have my friend back. You know what? I'm going to try calling him right now...

Nostalgia

Every once in a while I get these random sharp pains of sorrow and nostalgia about Evan. I miss him so much. He really was one of the best friend I ever had. It makes me so sad that he doesn't even want to try to maintain our friendship. ((Sigh))

Secrets Don't Make Friends

Two major things about today. I'll start with the one that makes me happy...

I finally met Ben! The guy in the improv group. Sophie and I went to their show again tonight, and he actually approached us afterwards and introduced himself! It definitely didn't hurt that Sophie friended him on Facebook, but he actually talked to us! To me! And I finally got to ask him if he's read the Harry Potter books and he said yes! Lol. I'm such a dork. But it's something! It's progress. I would be totally kicking myself right now if I'd left his show for the third time without at least saying hi to him. He even offered to pay our tab, but we'd already closed it. But this is going to be our new Thursday tradition now. Me and Sophie going to see Ben's improv group. I'm so giddy right now, it's ridiculous! :D

The other big thing...
I found out today, from Sophie, who found out on Facebook that Evan is married. Evan! Remember Evan?? Used to be one of my best friends till he starting dating some chick and fell off the face of the planet?? We went to NYC together a couple years ago? I've known him since seventh grade?? Ring any bells??
So get this...they eloped LAST MARCH! AND DIDN'T TELL ANYONE, TILL LIKE 3 DAYS AGO!
WHO DOES THAT!?
I mean don't most people just elope because they don't want to deal with the pressures of planning a wedding etc, and then they get back from Vegas and immediately tell everyone?? Who just keeps something like a marriage a secret for almost a year! I just think that is sooo weird. And it hurts too because it's pretty much a slap in the face that says, Hey I've completely cut you out of my life. ((Sigh)) And it just makes me so sad when I think about all the fun time Evan and I have had, and how we were such great friends, and how funny he was, and now we don't even talk at all and he just gets married and doesn't tell me. I feel pretty down in the dumps about that. I mean I tried reaching out to him, a few months back, to possibly salvage what was left of our friendship, and at least find out why he was avoiding me, but he pretty much told me that he's too busy, and has no interest in being my friend, now that he's got his girlfriend. Girlfriend who was actually his wife!! Ugh. It just doesn't seem like him. I guess I don't really know him at all. Sad. :'(

P.S. I do try to acknowledge my readers from time to time, when somebody asks a question or something. Sometimes I even answer their questions in the comments. And other times I address them in my next blog. It just depends. But Maria, I will try to be more in tune with my readers from now on.

Decisions, Decisions...

Ok, quick update!
TDH bailed on our not exactly a date date. So I went out with Evan instead.
John has been oddly distant, but that could just be because he took off work Saturday, and I haven't seen him in a while.
TDH still texts me on a daily basis, but I can't really figure out why, since he doesn't seem to wanna make any definite plans.
And, there's a new guy in the picture.
One of the bartenders at the shot bar, her name is Summer, it's her brother. His name is Brandon. He's definitely attractive, but not as tall as I would like. But the thing I do really like about him is HE ACTUALLY CALLS ME!
And in a texting world girls, that's hard to find. I mean literally, the first day after he got my number, he called me and asked me to hang out Thursday. So! I have plans with Brandon on Thursday. Oh, and he's a lot of fun. He's goofy, and we like to give each other shit and tease each other. It's fun.
So that's that with the boys!

In other news, my mom started chemotherapy yesterday. She decided to go ahead with the chemo, because I guess the surgeon told her she needed it. And I talked to her on the phone while she was there, with the IV in her arm. She sounded so horrible it was heart breaking. I almost started crying in the grocery store. I never thought this would be so hard. I mean my job is to be strong for my mom, make her laugh, and take her mind off the bad stuff. And I'm pretty good at doing that actually! I can always make my mom laugh. But when I'm not with her, it's gut wrenching. I mean every time we get off the phone it's like...it's like a waterfall of emotions, worry, stress, sadness, regret all just comes crashing down on me. ((sigh))
It's so hard.

And finally, I'm thinking about going back to school. At the Art Institute. I spoke to someone on the phone today about the photography program, and I set up a meeting on Saturday. They wanna see my portfolio, and go over some of the classes and give me a tour. My mom is going with me too, and she's really glad I'm looking into it. I'm actually excited about it too! I mean I would really love to learn some new Photoshop stuff! I would have to get a whole 'nother bachelor's degree, which might take me a while, but at least it would be something I have a chance of using! And I think I'll really enjoy it. So...I think it might be a good idea.

I'm sorry I haven't been good about writing lately. It's just that they have me working 5 nights a week now, and when I do get a night off, I just wanna go out with my friends, ya know?
Last night was my coworker, Taryn's birthday, so Alyssa and I went out for that. Oh, and she's the one that's dating the famous pro-athlete. So he was there and I got to meet him. That was pretty awesome! Evan was so jealous! Haha...
Well, Oliver is literally running laps around my living room right now, and it's such a beautiful night! I'm gonna go take him for a walk.

Group Hang

Well this past Friday we went out for Melissa's birthday. And we went to one of the newer bars on the Washington Strip. I had only been there once, and I remembered it being kind of a hole in the wall, and not very busy. But this time, it was packed! Bethany came too, and it ended up just being me, Melissa, Tim, Bethany and Evan. But we had so much fun! And I even met a cute bartender, and I gave him my phone number.
So on Sunday, before the whole Rusty thing, The Bartender texted me! We chatted a little bit, but I was at work, so we couldn't talk for long.
Then today, Jenna and I had plans to hang out at a local icehouse when she got off work. So I texted The Bartender and asked him to join us, before I hopped in the shower.
I left my phone sitting on the bathroom counter, and I heard him text a response while I was washing my hair. I smiled to myself as I hurried through the rest of my shower. I immediately checked my messages when I got out.
Except it wasn't from The Bartender.
It was Rusty.
"U hate me now?"
Ugh... I didn't respond. About 5 minutes later, The Bartender wrote back saying he'd meet us there.
So when Jenna got off work, we headed over to the icehouse. I brought Oliver with me, and Evan met up with us too. We played the touch screen trivia game, and had a few beers before The Bartender showed up.
It was hard for me to really decide what I thought of him. I mean, all of us bartenders act differently when we're not at work. Jenna didn't like him. She says he thinks he's hot shit. Lol. But to be honest, there weren't really any sparks between us. I mean, he's a nice guy and all but just...not that interesting.
Oh well, at least I hung out with a guy. A guy that wasn't Rusty.
Speaking of Rusty, he sent me another text when I got home.
"Just heard your myspace says you're done? I didn't even do anything wrong."
Fuckin' classic. I put that as my myspace status last night.
Peyton is DONE.
Mood: used.
I doubt he heard that either. He probably just saw it. And yea, maybe he didn't do anything wrong, but he sure as hell didn't do anything right!! I didn't respond to that one either.

Fourth of July Weekend

Ahhh it's been a long week. My Fourth of July kind of sucked... Alyssa and I were supposed to go out on the boat, but it rained the whole day. So we just bummed around her house for a few hours, before she had to go to ((wince)) Daniel's to visit her Dad. He was in town just for the weekend. She tried to convince me to go with her, but I was like "NO WAY!" As much as I still care about Daniel, I really don't think I can handle seeing him. Especially not in that kind of setting. So she called me from his house and put Delilah on the phone. I miss that little girl so much! She kept asking me when I was coming over, and telling me I was gonna miss the fireworks. ((sigh)) Why do these things always have to get so complicated and fucked up? It SUCKS!
Well, I met up with Alyssa in midtown later and we ate dinner. Then, after dinner, we discovered that Alyssa's car got towed! So I had to loan her the money and drive her over to the lot to get it. It was awful. Although we did get lots of free shots with our sob story. Lol.
Sunday, Bethany and I went up to Mr. P.'s lake house in Conroe with most of our coworkers. We had lots of fun and I got a pretty good tan! And I sure was exhausted after that trip.
Yesterday, Bethany, Tug and Evan and I went and saw Wall-E. I really liked it! It was so cute. Oh, and Evan's car got towed too!!! What is with this crap lately!? So I had to drive Evan to get his truck, but at least I didn't have to fork over another 200 dollars.
Anyways, today is the day I hear back from my new apartments about my application. I mean there's no reason why I shouldn't be approved, so why am I so nervous?!? Urgh.
Things with Baseball Guy are just not gonna work out. I saw him again yesterday when I was hanging out with Bethany and Tug, and I just...I'm not attracted to him. AT ALL. And I'm still totally and absolutely hung up on Daniel. Only The Model was able to distract my attention completely away from him. And it was just for a second!
Yep, that's right. The Model.
I saw Mitchell on Saturday night. He came into my bar, and we chatted for a minute. He said that The Model and he planned a short trip down to surprise their parents. And he said they would both be back August 10th, and "We need to all hang out!" Mitchell has already gone back to Atlanta, but The Model is still here till tomorrow night. NO, I haven't seen him, and I don't plan on it, because I'm sure he's with his family, and I certainly don't wanna call him. I mean I do, but I don't, ya know?? So I'm just gonna wait till August. But I'm not gonna lie, as soon as I found out he was in town, my heart went into overdrive. And I don't know if I'll be able to handle it come August.
Well, that's all for now, wish me luck with my apartment!!

Comfortably Numb

Today has been long.
And gruelling.
I went out last night with Bethany for Tug's birthday. I figured it would be a good idea to get out of the house and take my mind off things, and well, drink away my sorrows. Evan met us at the bar, and I must have had a decent time, because I don't remember much. Evan had to drive me home last night, because I was so tanked. He ended up just driving me to his place since I live so far. I was puking my guts out the whole way home, and I paid for it all day today. I woke up with the world's worst hangover, and nothing to do all day except think about Daniel.
I'm so lucky to have my friends. I talked to Melissa on the phone for a long time, and she always makes me feel better. And Bethany picked me up and drove me to my car this afternoon. And then of course, Evan took care of me last night when I was practically incapacitated. Ugh... I am never going to do that again. I don't even know how it happened. I wasn't even in much of a sociable mood. I just...didn't wanna think. About anything. So I drank. Wayyyyy too much. It's 2am the next night, and I still feel sick. I've been in bed reading and watching TV all day.
I still feel kind of...numb about the whole Daniel situation. I haven't even really cried about it yet. I guess I'm still waiting for it all to hit. Or maybe I'm just numb because I was kind of expecting this to happen. ((sigh))
The thing that just drives me crazy though, is that he's out with Alyssa and his ex-gf from Cali right now. The ex who he complained to me so much about. And now he's hanging out with her, conveniently enough, the day after we break up. I dunno, maybe you wouldn't really call her an ex. They went to high school together, but never talked. She contacted him via myspace, and I guess they just talked on the phone for a month, and then she flew down from Cali for a week in March. And as soon as she left, he and I got together. But he told me she was crazy, and stalkerish and all this crap. So I dunno...
Right now I'm just so whatever about everything. I don't wanna care about anything. I especially don't wanna care about him.

Midnight Musings

Omg it's only Sunday and I seriously miss BJ like...a lot!! I mean I can't seem to get him out of my head! It's driving me crazy!!!
He's over there in Miami, partying it up with a buncha frat boys, and who knows how many chicks. And I'm stuck here, working, and getting sick. I think I'm coming down with something bad; my throat is killing me and I'm exhausted. Ugh.

Last night with Bethany was a blast! We met up with a couple of her guy friends, and barhopped. She ended up getting totally wrecked and I had to drive her home. She was puking out the side of the car. Lol. The guy she wanted to set me up with was MIA so I never even got to meet him, but oh well. We ran into Evan at the Drake, and I ended up crashing at his place last night, cuz I was too tired to drive home. I love Evan! He's such an awesome friend!

Saturday was long-time-friend, Todd's birthday. He's 22 now. And he still has a girlfriend! I swear, I'll be waiting for him to break up with her for the rest of my life. Why couldn't I have noticed him a long time ago?? I guess that's just what happens when you're friends with somebody for years and years...((sigh)) But I can be patient. And who knows, maybe there's a more perfect guy out there. The feelings I have for Todd have been in the back of my mind for at least a year now, so I'm sure I can cram them back there for at least a few more.

I just wish BJ would come back so I can see him again. It's so weird, I mean... One week he was completely out of my life, and the next... Well you know the story. I really should be in bed. Lord knows I need to rest. I really shouldn't have gone out last night after waking up with a sore throat. But I wasn't about to pass up a Saturday night out. I usually have to work.

Well...I guess that's all for now. I'm hoping I can stay up till at least 2 because I asked BJ to call me when he got back to the hotel. But he'll probably be wasted, so who knows... Maybe I should just go to bed.

Work Work Work!

Saturday night was horrible!

We were short a bartender, and of course, it was insanely busy. Not to mention, I'm getting sick again, and I've just been so exhausted. My back was aching the whole night, and I just didn't feel like I was up to doing my best.

Then FB shows up with his friends, and literally will not leave me alone. I mean I was working the waitress well, so it wasn't even really my job to be helping the customers. They had other bartenders for that. But he's ordering rounds of EIGHTEEN SHOTS from me!! Ugh. Then he told Amanda and Melissa that he was "taking me out on a date" tomorrow. Which was so not true. Thank God for Evan! He was there too, and I grabbed him and quickly engaged him in a conversation so FB would leave me alone. FB and his crew didn't leave till close.

I saw Jake The Door Guy on my way to work, and he hardly said 2 words to me. Then after work, he came over to hang out, and he was all, "Hey lover!" and gave me a hug! I think the guy might have multiple personalies.

At the end of the night, while we were cleaning, Frank shows up, completely pants-shitting drunk. I mean, it was ridiculous. And he was talking shit to me for no reason! First he told me, "Fuck you, you fat bitch. Shut your mouth." I almost laughed at that, because it was a rather hypocritical comment.

But then later, he slapped me in the face!!! YEA! I was entering credit card tips on the computer, and minding my own business, and he walks up and says, "Stop looking at me like that!"

"Like what?" I asked.

"The way you're looking at me!" He slurred.

"I can look at you however I want." I said. I was really not in the mood to deal with him after the crappy night I'd had.

"I'll slap you in the face." He threatened.

"No you won't." I said, not even looking at him, and continuing to do credit cards.

Then he slapped me!! And not lightly either. I turned around and slapped him 3 times harder.

"Don't fucking slap me!" I said to him. I was so pissed!

And he laughed.

Then he started talking to Ali, saying that I'm a horrible photographer, and that as much as I try, I'll never be good at it. Normally, I wouldn't have let any of this bother me, but I just got off my period, I'm tired, sick, sore, and at the end of my rope, so this was just the straw that broke the camels back, ya know? I wanted to cry, but I would never do that at work. So I threw down my bar towel, and went to the back bar, to get away from him.

Nick was back there cleaning. I told him I was mad and I needed him to come eat with me after work so I could cry on his shoulder. Lol.

So we went and ate late night Mexican food at some 24 hour joint, and exchanged stories. I told him about Frank, and FB, and he told me about his psycho ex calling and listening to his voicemails.

Oh, and I feel like I have to state for the record, Nick is an awesome guy. He's not out to get into anyone's pants, and he totally respects me. He knows I'm not romantically interested in him either, so he wouldn't try to "cock block" me with Jake. What he told me is what he honestly believes to be true. And I know I can trust him.

Moving on....

Friday night was Blinn's birthday. And I forgot to mention in my last post, he has tried to make out with me twice in the past 4 days! I mean, both times he was drunk, but still... I wouldn't let him kiss me though, because 1) I was sober and 2) I'm not going to end up like Valerie!

I had to take him home after work on Thursday night, because he was wasted and his brother had his car. So that was the first time he made a move. And then Friday, a buncha people went over to his place for his birthday after work, and he started kissing my neck in front of like 3 other people!!! Omg so embarrassing! But it's ok, cuz nobody knows about what happened between us before. Except Alyssa and Bethany. And I know they won't tell anyone. But it kinda makes me wonder if he's actually interested in me, or if he's just drunk. He's always telling me I smell good, and sniffing me. Literally!

Well, sorry this post hasn't been very...detailed, but like I said, I'm exhausted! And I'm really looking forward to getting in bed and reading a book!

Thanks for reading!

Demetri Of The Day:

"The straw is a great invention. You can drink without using your wrists. The straw is your friend until you lose eye contact with the straw. Then he will betray you and make you look like an idiot. I have to pull the straw aside and be like “What the hell do you think you’re doing? The last time I checked, you were right by my mouth. What are you doing on the other side of the glass? I don’t need you; you’re a luxury!

The ice is even worse. When there’s liquid in there, yeah it’s fine; it’s like a pool party. “Hey we’re keeping everything cool.” I’m talking about when I get to the bottom and it’s just me and the ice. I’m like, ok just one of you. Come on I just want something to chew on; come on. And the ice is like, “Hold…hold…everybody now!”"

Roller Coaster

Thursday night around 7ish, Friend Boy called me.

"Are you ready??" he sounded excited.
"Yep! Should I start heading in your direction?"
"Yea, sounds good. Just give me a call when you're pulling into the gate." he said.
"Ok. Give me at least 30 minutes to get over there, cuz I dunno what traffic's gonna be like."
"Ok. See ya soon!"

And that was that. So I got to his place, and we each had a glass of wine, and chatted while we waited for our cab. He told me I looked pretty, which made me blush profusely. Then our cab finally arrived, and we were off to the city! FB is very outgoing, I noticed. He struck up a conversation with the cab driver on our way, and tipped him generously. The first bar we went into was an Irish pub. There weren't very many people there, but we sat down at the bar, ordered a couple beers and just...talked! We talked about our friends, and family, and the craziness that was last weeked... Then FB got up to go to the bathroom, and Bethany called.
"Hey! Guess what!?" I said.
"What?"
"I'm on a date with a guy you might know!"
"WHAT?? WHO!?" she asked.
I told her his name, remembering that they both went to the same high school.
"Oh my god! That's crazy! I remember him! Well, I don't wanna interrupt your date. Ya'll have fun, and call me tomorrow!" she said.
"Ok, I definitely will!" and we hung up the phone.
When FB came back from the bathroom, we decided to head to the bar across the street, which was another Irish pub. But that's what he had said he wanted to do: go to some pubs.
We ended up sitting at the bar next to a young guy from England. And FB, being so friendly, struck up a conversation with him too! Before long, we were all taking shots, and talking about soccer. Apparently Friend Boy was an avid soccer player for 18 years. Hot...
So I definitely had a buzz going by this point, but I was trying to play it cool, and we were just enjoying ourselves talking. Then around 11, we went to The Flying Saucer, which is famous for its one hundred plus taps. I got my favorite "beer", Lindeman's Framboise. A raspberry flavored Belgian beer, which is served in champagne flute. Then FB asked if I wanted to play some darts. I warned him that I'm horrible, and could possibly impale someone, but he just laughed and said he wanted to teach me. So we went over to the dart boards, and he was explaining to me how to play cricket, and I must have been giggling or something, because he stopped, looked at me, and then just suddenly kissed me!
"Sorry...I just had to do that." he said.
I smiled. And kissed him some more.
So we played a couple rounds of cricket, and I lost, dismally. Lol. But it was still fun.
"You know, if we had been playing shuffleboard, I woulda totally kicked your ass!" I said.
"You like shuffleboard?" he sounded surprised.
"I love it!" I exclaimed.
"Well where can we go that has shuffleboard? Let's find a place!"
So FB asked went to ask the bartender where the nearest bar was with shuffleboard, and we decided to make that our next destination. But as it turns out, we never made it there! As we were driving past Reef, FB mentioned he liked that place.
"Really? I know one of the bartenders, we should go!" I said.
So the cab dropped us off there instead. But when we got inside, there wasn't a person in sight! So we took shots, and decided to walk a couple blocks over by where my work is, and a few other bars. We talked while we walked, and it was pleasantly cool outside. We we got to my work, I decided we should go in there, since I was drunk. Lol. I hadn't been inside that building since Blinn suspended me, but I figured since Mr. S. called me, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make an appearance. It was already 1 am anyways. So we went inside, and Mr. S. gave me a hug, and Blinn gave me a high five, and Nick yelled, "Olive juice!" Haha. We had some more shots, and this is where things start to get fuzzy. I know we stayed there till close, and then took another cab back to his place. Then we made out a lot, until we passed out. At one point, things started to go too far, and I had to stop him. Because I definitely wasn't gonna sleep with him when we were both hammered.
Friday morning, FB woke up at 7 am! Neither of us knows why, but since we were up, we talked some more, and kissed some more...and I just couldn't stop myself this time. He was just so...amazing! And I wanted more of him! And it was great. Almost a relief actually. Then we slept for another couple of hours, woke up, and did it again! Haha.

On a side note, Charlotte sent him a text first thing in the morning that said something along the lines of, "Hope you have a great day today!" What the hell?? Is she seriously trying to get with him, now that he and I are...whatever we are! Ugh... Well back to the story...

"I'm gonna make you a badass breakfast!" he said, "With eggs, and green peppers, and tomatoes, and onions, and bacon..."
"Wow...I am pretty hungry." I said.
And he totally brought me breakfast in bed! And he even cut up fresh pineapple slices! It was delicious. Absolutely hit the spot. We lounged around in bed, and cuddled and watched TV for a while longer. Then around 2:30, I got up to leave. He made a pouty face.
"I wish I could stay longer, but my friend's birthday celebration thing is tonight. And I should probably make an appearance at home before I head over to her place."
"Oh, what are you guys gonna do tonight?" he asked.
"I'm not sure exactly yet. I know we're going to dinner, and then we'll be out in midtown. I just don't know where yet cuz Cecilia hasn't told me what she wants to do."
"Well, you should give me a call when you find out, and maybe we can meet up later. Cuz I'm gonna be out with the boys for sure."
"That sounds great! You guys should totally come hang out with us." I said.
"Ok, yea. Just let me know." he said.
Then he walked me to the parking garage, and gave me kiss goodbye.
"I had a great time last night." he said between kisses.
"Me too." I smiled and kissed him again.
Then we said our goodbyes and I got in the elevator. ((swoon))

I called Melissa on my drive home to dish. Then I called Bethany. Lol.
Then Evan called and asked if I wanted to go eat sushi with him. And since I was starving, I readily agreed. So I went home, got all my stuff together, and a few shirts for Cecilia to chose from, and headed to the restaurant to meet Evan. The sushi was excellent, and Evan and I talked about our dates. He had one on Thursday night too, but apparently his didn't go as well. It turned out his "date" already had a boyfriend! Lol. I called FB around 6:30 to tell him what our plans were, but he didn't answer. So I hung up and sent him a text that said: Hey, our plans are to meet at El Patio at 9 and then head over to Rocbar. So hopefully I'll se you! Give me a call if you wanna meet up.
After sushi, I went over to Cecilia's to get ready. We goofed off as we fixed our hair and put on makeup. She tried on like 8 shirts, and finally decided on one of her own. Then after some running around to pick up Cecilia's friends, we finally headed out to midtown! By this time, I was starting to fret about FB because I had never heard anything back from him! My first reaction in these situations is always to freak out, and overanalyze everything. Like, is he ignoring me? Does he not like me anymore? I shouldn't have slept with him! He thinks I'm a slut! Maybe he was only after sex! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
Cecilia told me to chill out and stop worrying about it, but I just couldn't. My mind was somewhere else all night. ((sigh)) I called Melissa while I was in the car, and she said that FB had called one of his guy friends, and that they were going to Rocbar. So why didn't he text me back?? Ugh...

We had some excellent blue margaritas at El Patio. Alyssa and her boyfriend, and Jenna and one of her guy friends met up with us there. Then we all headed over to Rocbar. As soon as I walked in the door, I couldn't stop looking for him. I wasn't even intentionally doing it! I just wanted to know if he was there. But he wasn't...
Alyssa and Cecilia were wasted by midnight. Lol. But I was still distracted about FB. I texted Melissa and asked where they were, and she said they were at the shot bar. "Is FB with you?" I text back, but never got a response.
At 1 am, we all went over to my bar, because Cecilia had never been there and wanted to check it out. When I got to the front door, sexy Mr. P. was standing there, and he gave me a funny smirk.
"Sooo how did that work out for you last night??" he asked sarcastically.
"Uh...great." I said, not really sure what he meant...exactly.
"Where is he?" he asked.
"I don't know!" I said.
"Oh, he didn't call?" Mr. P. grinned sardonically.
"What?! I'm not having this conversation with you!" I spluttered.
Mr. P. laughed, "Well maybe we should have a chat about that later." he joked.
I grabbed Cecilia and we went inside. I made a beeline for Nick to ask him what the hell Mr. P. was talking about. Nick busted out laughing.
"Dude, you and that guy were like...making out in front of everybody last night!"
OHHHH NOOOOOOOO.
"WHAT!? Omg, seriously!? That's so embarrassing..."
Nick laughed again, "Yea, everybody was watching."
"Great. That's the last time I bring a date in here! I'm never gonna hear the end of this!" I wailed.
My night just seemed to be getting worse. Bethany was working, and I told her about FB not calling.
"I'm seriously gonna be devastated if he's blowing me off." I said.
"Well...I wouldn't worry about it yet. I mean you saw him this morning. If he doesn't call you within 3 days, then it's off. But give him 3 days." she said.
I sighed. I hate waiting!
"What time are you going to the party on Sunday?" I asked, changing the subject.
"I think we're gonna try to leave around 4:30. Do you wanna ride with us?" she asked.
"Yea that would be great! Cuz I have no idea where this place is."
"Ok, just meet at my house around 4."
"Ok, I'm excited!" I said.
The lights were already on, and everyone was leaving at this point, so Cecilia gave me a hug, and she and Rob (her husband) left together, followed by Alyssa and her boyfriend. So I went outside (in the freeeezing cold! I left my coat in the car so I wouldn't have to carry it) to start walking to my car.
Then John approached. "Do you need me to drive you home?" he asked, halfway joking.
"No, not today! I'll be ok." I laughed.
"Well do you want me to walk you to your car?" he persisted.
"You don't have to," I said, "I mean...aren't you still technically working?"
"Yea, but this is part of my job." he assured me.
"Ok. Well let's walk fast, cuz I'm freezing!"
"Well here, take my coat." he took it off and put it around my shoulders.
"Thanks." I said.
When we got to my car, I offered to drive him back to work, and he accepted. As soon as I turned on the car, Gillet Of 20 Fingers' "Does anybody wanna have sex tonight?" started blaring on the stereo.
"Uh..." I laughed, embarassed. "Yea...Cecilia left her CDs in my car."
"Nice." he said.
The drive took about 2 minutes, so there wasn't much more talking. He thanked me for the ride, and then I left. I had been hoping to spend the night at FB's again, so it was pretty disappointing to drive all the way home.
((sigh)) I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow, but when I woke up this morning, all my feelings of anxiety, and worry came rushing back ten-fold.
I still haven't heard from Friend Boy. Melissa said he was out with them at the shot bar last night, but I never got her text. She also told me that Charlotte and 2 of her friends spent the night at his place last night. Which, isn't exactly unusual considering they crashed there last week. And I'm not really threatened by Charlotte, because honestly, she's short and chubby, and I know he's not into her. But...what if this means he's not into me??
I mean, we had such a great time Thursday night, and I really really like him. It's scary. I hate putting myself out there, because this always seems to happen to me. I mean I know it may be too early to tell yet but...I just have this feeling. And he and I had talked about going back to Drake again tonight, and now...I just don't know.
((Sigh))
What do I do?? What do I think???

New York: The Final Chapter

The sun from the skylight in the boat shone brightly in my face the next morning. I woke up and make the long cold trip down to the club to shower and get ready for the day. When I got back, Shane and Dr. NY had bought us all bagels from a shop down the road. They were delicious!
Our first order of business for that day, was to visit the Bronx Zoo! I had been dying to go since I have an animal science degree, and I have always wanted to work in a zoo. So I thought it would be awesome to check it out. I also knew it would be a great opportunity to take some awesome photographs of the animals. So the 3 of us drove out to The Bronx for a cold day at the zoo. We spent about 3 hours there, and it was awesome! Definitely the coolest zoo I've been to so far. And I got tons of amazing shots!
Afterwards we started discussing dinner plans. Dr. NY said he had some friends who wanted to eat Chinese. The supposedly knew about this great authentic place in Queens. So we decided to join them. We made a pit-stop at Yankee Stadium to take a couple pictures. In Evans pictures, he flicked off the stadium. Lol. Hey! We're Texans!
So the restaurant was definitely unlike any I've ever been to! They had this all-you-can-eat meal deal for 25 bucks which included beer! It was basically a huge, boiling pot of stew, with as much raw meat as you could eat, which you put into the boiling stew to cook. And they had a buffet of different sauces, so you could mix your own to dip the meat in. It was so cool! We were a pretty big party; me, Evan, Shane, Dr. NY, his friend John, his friend Kent, and Kent's girlfriend.
Kent, it didn't take me long to figure out, was a very long-winded guy. I mean he was mildly amusing at first, but he obviously just liked to hear himself talk. And he did not shut up through the whole meal...which was very long. The meal deal had a 2 hour time limit, which we exceeded by at least 2 hours. And not by choice either. It was obvious that we were all ready to go, but Kent just kept ordering more meat! Evan and I kept exchanging anxious looks. I mean, this was going to be our last night in NYC and we didn't wanna spend the whole night in a Chinese restaurant in Queens. So finally, by like 11 pm, we got the hell out of there. And we had all ridden together in Dr. NY's car (it was a very tight squeeze), so we started walking back. And Kent is already talking about how he wants to go to this club a few blocks over. Shane and I were practically horrified at that thought since we were still in our zoo clothes. Evan wasn't too keen on it either. Plus I still had a huge bulky camera case, with over a thousand dollars worth of equipment! I wasn't just gonna leave that lying around.
Well sure enough, we get dragged to this club, because stupid Kent insisted on going! And it would have been cool, except that no one asked our opinions, we weren't dressed properly, and, to top it off, nobody in this club even spoke English! They all spoke Polish!! A guy actually walked up to me and started speaking to me in Polish, and I just gave him a blank stare and said, "What??" Then he said, "Oh, you speak English." as if he was disappointed or something.
"Well of course I speak effing English! This is freakin AMERICA!!" I yelled after him. I was pretty irritated by this point. And the people in there were so pushy! I mean, usually when I'm out in a crowded place, if I bump into someone, or push them, I say "I'm sorry", or "excuse me". But no! Not a single apology from these people as they were literally running me over!
Then, some bitchy bartender was giving me an attitude because my purse was on the bar, and she wanted to dance on it! (Completely oblivious to all the people waiting for drinks). So she literally shoved my purse at me, knocking it over, and spilling it's contents onto the bar. I was so pissed! I saw that same bartender later, walking through the crowd, so I purposely ran into her. Hard. Hahaha. She turned around, flipped me off and started mouthing off something to me. At this point, I was honestly ready to throw down with the bitch! I threw up my arms and said something along the lines of, "What!? Come back over here and say something! Bitch! What the fuck?!"
She didn't come back. Lol.
Shane was grabbing my arm and telling me to calm down or we'd get kicked out.
"So what?!" I said, "I didn't even wanna come here in the first place!"
Evan was laughing. Finally, it was 3:45, last call. So we went to get our coats from the coat check. The line was like 6 miles long! Then they lost 2 of our coats, and Shane had to go back and look for them. By the time we got out of there, it was 4:30 am, and Evan and I were both pissed off and tired as hell.
But it doesn't end yet.
Stupid fucking Kent decides it'll be a good idea to go to an afterhours club! And Evan and I are in the back seat with him, and his girlfriend, saying, "No...I think we should just go home. We have to pack and fly out tomorrow." And guess what Kent says to us!
He says, "Nah, you guys are just gonna come with us. Go with the flow, you konw. It'll be cool."
I was literally seething. Steam might have been coming out my ears.
"Well, we'll just get a cab then, and go back ourselves." I said with a less than polite tone.
And we did. But that wasn't an easy task either! We ended up at some hole-in-the-wall 24 hour Mexican food place, where of course, there are no cabs anywhere! So Evan I get all our stuff, and start trudging down the street in search of a car company. Then it starts snowing! Ugh...it was horrible, you guys. You can't even imagine! Finally, we found some guy to take us. I fell asleep in the car while poor Evan kept trying to give the guy directions. But the driver had no idea where we were staying, or how to get there, so it took us a good hour to get back. And when we finally did, we both laid down in our beds, and screamed! As loud as we could!
So much pent-up frustration...
"Good night Evan." I said after I took a deep breath.
"Good night Peyton."
And we both went to sleep.

The next morning, we were supposed to sail around the Statue of Liberty, but since it was snowing, that wasn't really an option. Oh well. We were both just so exhausted by this point. So we decided to tour NBC studios instead. That was actually really fun! We got to see the sets of SNL, and Conan O'Brian, and I got some cool souvenirs, and gifts for people back home.
Before we knew it, it was time to drive to the airport. Shane stayed an extra day, so she and Dr. NY drove us to the airport. The flight was ok, I think I slept the whole way. Evan and I both decided that next time we go to New York, we won't depend on anyone but ourselves! Definitely a good plan.
I didn't speak to The Model the whole time I was there either. Although I did text him on our first night out, but he never responded.

So all in all, New York was great! Except for that last night...but oh well. At least I never have to see Kent again!!

New York: Part III

I did a double take when I realized Evan was lying next to me in our too-small bed.
"What the hell, Evan!?"
"SORRY! I knew you were gonna be mad! I just didn't wanna wake you up last night!"
"Well why aren't you in your own bed!?"
"Because there weren't enough blankets for 3 beds, and they needed covers for the air mattress, and I was cold, so I just...got in bed with you! I'm sorry!"
I rolled my eyes and shoved him over the edge of the bed. Evan mumbled something unintelligible as I sat up and realized 2 things:
1) I was still in my clothes from the night before, and
2) I was incredibly hungover!
I could already tell it was going to be a long day...
Shane and Dr. New York began to stir in their bed, no doubt the shouting between Evan and I had awaken them. I was already on my way to the shower when they were getting up. After I cleaned up, we packed up everything, loaded it into Dr. New York's car and checked out of the hotel.
We were on to our next destination: the yacht!

As glamorous as it may sound, crashing on a yacht in New York, it definitely wasn't. For one, we weren't actually in New York anymore, we were in Hoboken, New Jersey. And secondly, the yacht was very small, and the water was very choppy. AND, I was already feeling nauseous from my hangover. Plus, there was no central heating for hot water, so we had to walk all the way up to the club, in the freezing cold, just to shower! All I really felt like doing once we got to the boat, was sleeping off my hangover, but of course, nobody else was down with that. And Evan was getting ants in his pants again.
Shane and Dr. New York had plans to go to a fondue party, which Evan and I weren't too keen on joining, so he and I made our own plans for the evening. We decided to check out Rockefeller Center, and the Christmas Tree and all that. So I put on my cute new little black dress, which I had been saving, and my new red peep-toe pumps. I wore black plaid tights also since it was so cold. And of course I had my black wool trench. But even so, I was freezing! We had to walk about 30 minutes down to the ferry to take us across the Hudson. And from there we had to catch a cab into the city. By the time we made it to Rockefeller, I felt like an arthritic old woman! I can't emphasize enough how cold it was! And poor Evan was getting really annoyed with my complaining, I could tell. Lol.
But once we were inside, we found a restaurant and sat down and I started to feel better. But it was kind of a catch 22 because the cold seemed to mask my hangover, and as soon as we got into the warmth, I started to feel sick again. But I thought maybe I'd feel better after we ate. We ordered wine, and 2 dishes to share: crab cakes, and pasta. Both were excellent!
"So...there's something I've been meaning to talk to you about." Evan said as he set down his fork. I could tell he'd been mulling something over in his head for about 10 minutes. I guess he'd finally decided to divulge.
"What?" I said matter-of-factly.
"Well...I really meant to bring it up before we got here, but I chickened out."
"Ok..."
"Well, you know that night that I uh...stayed at your house?"
"Yes, Evan."
"Well...I dunno, I'm...interested in you. And ever since then, sometimes I think maybe I should...do something? But I'm not sure if I'm getting signals from you or not. Like...the other night before we left, that's why I couldn't sleep all night!"
By now, I had my head in my hands, as it was starting to pound again from being hungover. I looked up at him through my fingers, and sighed. I almost wanted to laugh, because the awkwardness he was feeling was just radiating off him!
"Evan..."
"Shit! I shouldn't have said anything. I just ruined dinner, didn't I!? I just ruined New York!"
"Shut up! No you didn't. I just think it's funny how much you squirm when you're uncomfortable." He looked down, clearly even more embarrassed than before. I chuckled. "Look, if I ever seem...extra friendly, or flirty or something, especially if I'm drunk, don't think anything of it. Ok? I'm not trying to send you any kind of signals it's just...things got a little confusing after that incident, which is why I suggested we should just stay friends."
"Yea...I dunno, I guess I just thought..." he trailed off.
Then it was my turn to feel awkward. I shoved another bite of pasta into my mouth and immediately regretted it.
"Why do you look so miserable?! I totally ruined the night!"
"No, Evan! G's, I feel like shit, ok!? It has nothing to do with you!" I couldn't help but laugh. He just looked like a sad puppy. "Ugh...maybe I shouldn't have ordered this wine."
He stared blankly at me, but I knew he was still thinking about it.
"Listen. Let's just agree never to speak of that incident ever again, ok? Like it never happened! And you and I, we're just friends. That's all. And we can have a perfectly platonic, fun time in New York for the next 2 days. Alright??"
He readily agreed, and we picked up our check and left the restaurant, and the awkward conversation behind.
Then we were back in the biting cold all too soon. We walked around a little bit, took pictures in front of the tree, shopped, wandered into a couple bars...
But there wasn't much point in going out drinking since I was still hungover, and neither of us had a wingman. It's just too weird when a single guy, and a single girl walk into a bar...together! No one is liable to try and pick up either one of them. So we had just about given up and were about to head back to the boat when we saw the sign on B. B. King's jazz lounge: Live Tool Cover Band.
"LET'S GO!!!" I shouted as I pointed to the sign. I am the biggest Tool fan ever!
"Ok!" Evan said. So we bought a pair of tickets and sat down at a comfortable booth. I took out everything I had just bought: 4 books, a CD and a new Harry Potter scarf. Three of the books, and the CD were Christmas presents, but the scarf was for me! Hee! Anyways, 3 of the books I got were all the same. I got one for Jenna, one for Sophie, and one for me! They're these really funny picture books where people took pictures of street signs, but they put "fuck" stickers on the signs in place of one of the words, so that they read really funny things. Does that make sense? Like, for example: Please do not fuck the pigeons. Lol.
So we sat and looked at the book, and laughed our asses off, while we watched a really badass Tool cover band! So the night ended well after all. And at least 3 people complimented me on my shoes throughout the night!
Our cab drive back however, wasn't so great. We had kind of a hard time trying to tell the guy how to get to where we were going, but we made it eventually! Shane and Dr. NY were already in bed when we got in. So I took the convertible table/bed, and Evan took the couch/bed. Despite the rocking, I slept pretty well. And the best part is, when I woke up, I was no longer hungover!

New York: Part II

OK! Sorry to keep you guys waiting so long but now it seems like I have so much stuff to write about, I can barely keep it all in my head! So I really need to get you all caught up! So, back to New York!

Day 2
Even though Shane and I shared a bed, we both slept comfortably, and woke up refreshed and ready for a new adventure. We all showered and got ready and then headed back out to Canal St. to finish our shopping. The weather was even cool enough for me to wear my new leg-warmers! Shane got a really awesome fake Coach, and I got some Dolce sunglasses and another new hat! After Canal, we went to Lombardi's FAMOUS pizza for lunch/dinner. And all I have to say is that was the most amazing pizza I have EVER had!!! OMG! I'd go back to NYC just to have another slice!
So we left feeling very stuffed and headed over to Soho, where we found some really awesome shops and boutiques! And believe it or not, they weren't over the top expensive! I got a great pea coat with military buttons down the front, and Shane got a new dress. Evan also got a new coat, a long wool black one. He said he felt more like a New Yorker wearing it. Lol. We took tons of great pictures too!
Around 7 o'clock we decided it was probably time to start heading back so Shane and I could get gussied up for our night out. We stopped at a Starbucks on the way back to warm up because we had a pretty long walk ahead of us!
Now, I'll skip all the boring showering and applying of makeup and get right on to the part where we headed out. Well, Shane's Dr. New York called while we were fixing our hair and said he was getting out of his surgeons convention early, and would be able to join us for the evening! Which worked out great for us since he also offered to drive and show us around to the best places. When he got to our hotel, my first impression was that he was very...proper. And gentlemanly. Almost in a non-convincing way...if ya know what I mean. Not that he was a dog or anything, but Evan and I were both in agreement that he was speaking to us like we were either his children, or his patients. Granted, he is 36, which is great for Shane, since she likes "older, successful men". BAH! More like older more boring men! But I really shouldn't speak badly of him cuz he was a nice guy.
So he took us to the meat-packing district, which is, believe it or not, where all the really swanky bars, clubs and lounges are. We hit several bars that night, but most of it is lost on me because I was so obliterated drunk. Haha! I do remember going in Hogs & Heifers, which is the original Coyote Ugly, where the movie was filmed. And one of the bartenders (a girl!) kept telling me to take off my bra and add it to the large collection already hanging behind the bar. But, I had no trouble resisting.
Unfortunately, I didn't meet any cute boys, and Shane and Dr. NY spent most of the night snogging, so...Evan and I tried to have a good time without looking like we were "together", so as not to discourage attractive people of the opposite sex. Let's just say we must have failed miserably. Oh well! We still had a blast, and if I was drunk enough not to remember large chunks of the night, then it must have been a good one!
Finally we made it back to our hotel, although I don't recall the drive...or the elevator, or even getting in bed. I DO remember though, Dr. NY suddenly busting out with a fully inflated queen sized air mattress in the middle of the floor like he was Inspector Gadget or something! I was laying in my bed when it happened, and I remember looking up over at Evan, in his bed; the look on his face said exactly what I was thinking: "What the hell!? Who IS this guy!?" Lol. I can't even begin to describe...
But I must have passed out quite soon after that because the next thing I remember is waking up, and rolling over to tell Shane good morning, and seeing, not Shane, but EVAN!

Mitch Of The Day:
"I like those blow-up beds. "This becomes a full size bed in three minutes!" Well, a mattress kicks your ass. Zero seconds. "Yeah, but you can store this thing." You can store a bed, too - in the bedroom."

New York: Part I

Tuesday night, I picked up some take-out and headed over to Evan's apartment. His roommate was our ride to the airport and our flight was at 7:30am, so I didn't wanna run the risk of being late. So I just stayed the night at his house. Sharing a bed was a bit awkward because of past experiences but...I figured we should probably get used to it.
The flight to New York wasn't so bad. Evan and I made it to our gate just as they were calling our row, so we got right on. Neither one of us could sleep for the excitement!
When we arrived and got our bags we went out in search of a cab. My first sights of the airport weren't that impressive, although the weather was nice and cool. About 60 degrees.
"Ok, we have to get a cab outside, from a marked car. Not from these guys asking us if we need rides, because they could be swindlers." Evan said.
"Wow, I didn't even think of that. Good call."
So we walked down the street a ways, following the taxi signs. And just as we were about to cross the street, a short man in a suit with a thick accent approached.
"Do you need a cab?" he asked.
I blatantly ignored him, but he persisted.
"I take you for $45 plus tolls. Cab??"
Evan kinda hesitated, and then said, "Yea...we need to get to Manhattan."
My eyes popped out of my head. I gave him a look that said, "What are you doing!?"
But the "cab driver" was already taking my suitcase and walking briskly away.
"Follow me!" he said.

Once the driver was out of earshot I began angrily hissing in Evan's ear.
"How about practicing what you preach Evan!? Are you crazy!? This guy could be stealing our bags! I don't like this! I don't trust him!"
"Well, if he takes us to an unmarked car, then we'll turn around." he said.
"We better!" I huffed.

But sure enough, he brings us to a white, unmarked van. I started giving Evan the look again. The driver was already loading our bags in the back.
"Uh...do you have some kind of ID or something?" Evan asked.
"Oh! Of course I have ID! Here you go, see??" he handed Evan a business card.
I still was not convinced. But we got in anyways.
I sat down in my seat and sent Evan a text that said, "I DON'T LIKE THIS!"
He just rolled his eyes at me.

Well, needless to say, we made it to our hotel. The drive was amazing! My first sights of New York City! I drank it up greedily. The tall buildings, the amazing skyline, the buildings with fire escape stairs down the sides! (I'd only ever seen those in movies.)
The hotel was small, squeezed in between 2 apartment buildings on a numbered street in the heart of downtown Manhattan. There was even a dog walking park across the street! It was all so quaint. We checked in, and took the one small elevator up to the 7th floor to our room. The first thing I wanted to do was shower. I hadn't taken one that morning because we had to get up at 5, and it was starting to sink in how gross I felt. There were no bathrooms in the rooms; there were 2 bathrooms for the hallway, which consisted of about 8 rooms. It was like being back in the dorms in college, walking down the hall to the bathroom with a bag of toiletries and a towel. Haha. But they were very clean, so no worries. And I felt a million times better afterwards.

So, our first order of business was to do some exploring! Shane wasn't due to arrive until later that night, so we had a few hours to kill. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I'm sort of an amateur photographer. So I grabbed my huge camera bag, and Evan and I headed out. I snapped tons of pictures everywhere we went. New York is the most exciting and interesting place to photograph!
We headed to the subway first. That was super exciting! We bought a 6 ride pass, and hopped on the 6. We went to Little Italy first, because we were starving! The hotel provided some great maps in the brochure rack. We probably went through about 8 of them throughout our trip! We walked past about 15 Italian restaurants, looking for something special, but finally we couldn't stand our hunger anymore and just ended up going into a random restaurant. But it was, by far, the best pasta I've ever had! And we each had a glass of wine with our meal.
We finally left the restaurant at dusk, and feeling full to the brim. Our next stop was Canal Street. Canal Street is known for its street vendors selling knock-off bags, watches, perfumes, and jewelry. But I really wanted a faux-Chanel bag!
I ended up getting 2 bottles of my favorite perfume, a bag, a pair of sunglasses, and a hat! Lol. Evan looked at watches, but didn't buy anything. I took lots of pictures of the street too. It was so cool walking around like real New Yorkers! Except my camera and Evan's map probably gave us away. Haha.
At about 7 we headed back to the hotel to wait for Shane. And by this time, I was exhausted. So I decided to take a powernap. Evan, on the other hand, had ants in his pants and wanted to go do something! I kept telling him we didn't have time to leave and come back before Shane arrived, but he just wouldn't calm down! And he wouldn't let me sleep either. He was driving me nuts! Eventually, he said he was gonna go take a shower, and I finally got to sleep.
About an hour later, there was a knock at the door. It was Shane!
"I tried calling you a bunch of times, but it kept saying all the circuits were busy!" she said, "But the guy at the desk told me what room ya'll were in."
"Well I'm glad you made it! Isn't this awesome?!" We squeeled and jumped around for a minute while Evan rolled his eyes. Lol. Then I showed Shane all the cool stuff I bought on Canal St.
"I hope you're not tired of it yet cuz you know we have to go back there tomorrow!" Shane said.
"Of course!! You can never shop too much in New York City!" I laughed.
Evan rolled his eyes.
"Poor Evan didn't know what he was getting himself into coming to New York City with 2 girls!" I teased.

After we were all settled in we started discussing what to do that evening. Evan was ready to get the hell out of the hotel, but Shane and I still needed to get our sexy on. By the time we were ready, it was already almost midnight, but hey! Bars in NY are open till 4 am!
So we hopped in a cab and headed for Times Square. We took pictures on the corner and "oohed" and "aahed" at the sights. The big screens, the lights, the billboards, the marquees...EVERYWHERE! So beautiful! Then we walked around in search of a bar to hang out in. Most of the places were restaurant/bars, and we didn't wanna go into one of those, so we wandered out of Times Square and found a little Irish Pub. We went inside, sat down at the bar and ordered a round of drinks.
"Hey, are there any good bars around here besides this one?" I asked the bartender. He kinda gave me a superior look, a look that said he knew we were tourists and replied, "Well...not really for the way you guys are dressed. Where are you from?"
"Texas!" Shane said, "And this is how we always dress!"
"Well, this is New York City! I mean, you don't have to dress up here, we just go out in sweatshirts and jeans. You guys are dressed more for a lounge or something."
Then he made us a list of a couple different bars, and their cross streets. So we thanked him and headed on to our next destination...
...Which ended up being another Irish Pub!
"What is this an Irish Pub Crawl?" I said. Evan and Shane laughed.
"Well what about this place?" Shane pointed at one of the bars on the list, "The bartender said we were dressed for this one."
"Yea but that's a jazz lounge." Evan pointed out.
"Well...I'm up for whatever, I just need a drink!" I said.
So we had another round, and then decided to just walk around the area we were already in and try to find another bar. We walked into 2 others. One was closing early, so we never actually made it in the door, and the other was a dimly lit basement bar, with pool tables and such. The bartender was really nice, and we joked with her about the couple making out in the corner. They seriously looked like they were about to tear each other's clothes off and start going at it right there on their table!
And then, we ready to call it a night. With four more days of sightseeing, barhopping and shopping ahead of us, we all figured it was a good idea to get some rest. So we hopped a cab back to the hotel. Shane and I were awfully cozy in our twin bed, but we both slept great! And when the sun came up, we were ready for Day 2 of NYC!

Dry Spell?

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but Shane is definitely coming to NYC with me and Evan! I'm sooo excited! And relieved...! I'll actually have a girl to go shopping with. And on top of that, she recently met this surgeon, who lives in NY, and has a boat house on the Hudson, and he's offered to put us up for 2 nights!! How perfect is that?! AH! She and I have been chatting on the phone about this trip non-stop since she decided to go. It's gonna be amazing!
I'm also making another trip to Austin this week. I have off Thursday and Friday for some reason, so I decided to take advantage of it and finally hit 6th on a weekend night! It's gonna be a blast!
I don't have much else to write about. I'm going through another bookworm phase. I'm currently right smack in the middle of 2 books. I dunno why, but every once in a while, I just get this crazy itch to read, and that's pretty much all I do in my spare time!

As for Hot Dereck, I've decided to actually follow my instincts (and your advice!) and stay away from him. He's just all around bad news. And how am I gonna find the man of my dreams if I keep flirting with disaster?!

The week before Thanksgiving, I'm going to Orlando to visit Sophie. The whole family is getting together at my uncles house for Thanksgiving dinner. He lives about 45 minutes outside the city. BUUUUUUUUUT...Sophie and I are going to get tattoos! Well, I'm for sure getting one, but she's not certain if she's ready. The last time I was in Austin, I doodled this really unique looking star on my wrist with black eyeliner. I almost went and got it done while I was there, but Sophie convinced me to wait so we could go together. And I've been redrawing it on every day since, so that I can really get used to the idea of having something permanantly on my body. I don't have any tats yet, but I'm excited!!

I'm starting to think the whole thing between John and I was totally bogus. I dunno what to make of any of it. He's just so...absent. Nick says he's just "weird". Whatever... Perhaps I'm just going through a dry spell. ((sigh))
Sorry this post was so totally boring. Hopefully I'll have more for you guys next time!

ATX

I didn't end up leaving Houston until late Tuesday afternoon, but I got to Austin around 8pm. Shane and I decided to meet up at a shopping center so we could look for something to wear to the party. Shane had her new puppy in tow! He's a chihuahua mix, SO adorable! His name is Chulo. Anyways, I ended up finding a cute, simple black skirt to show off my new black leather boots.

After shopping, Shane needed to stop at the grocery store for some dog food, so I offered to wait in the car with Chulo to speed things up a bit. We were kind of in a hurry to get home and start getting ready! So as I was sitting in the car waiting, smoke starts coming out of my hood! I jumped out and popped the hood because my car was obviously overheating. There was green coolant leaking out everywhere! A random guy came over and asked if I was ok, and took a peak under the hood. He said it was my radiator, and that I wouldn't be able to drive it without blowing the engine. Great. Just my luck huh??

So when Shane came out of the store, I explained what happened and we packed all my stuff into her car and headed back to her place. Luckily she lives just down the street from the HEB we were at. I was gonna have to have my car towed over to a shop the next morning, and get my shift covered at work just in case I didn't make it back on time.

But we tried not to let that put a damper on our fabulous evening! So we got dressed in a hurry, and Izzie came and picked us up, and we were on our way!

When we got to Pure, the bar where the party was at, there was a huge white H2 limo in front, and tons of paparazzi! We totally felt like celebrities, skipping to the front of the line and walking right in. It was awesome! Izzie and Shane had made friends with the manager and one of the door guys last week, which was super convenient! It wasn't that crowded when we walked in, but Pure has 3 floors so we decided to make our way up. The friendly door guy escorted us up to the 3rd floor, where the VIP area was. It was totally packed up there! And there they were, right in front of us! Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson, the rest of the guys from Fall Out Boy, and the guys from Gymn Class Heroes! They were all sitting in a booth, talking and laughing just like normal people. The booth area was roped off though, and there were tons of camera people crowded around, and girls I could only assume were groupies.

Well Door Guy got us in past that rope too! I felt like we were walking into a photograph in People Magazine! Pete and Ashlee looked just as I'd pictured them: he in his black hoodie with the hood up, she with her fedora cap and grease ball hair that looked like it hadn't been washed in 8 days, and both of them in their Converse. We thought about asking for autographs, but decided against it because we didn't wanna be rude, or annoying, or like all the other girls we were surrounded by. So we just mingled and had some drinks, and soaked up the limelight being reflected off the stars!

There was also a camera guy from some late-night show there, and we were totally on TV for like 10 seconds! Haha. Pete and Ashlee skipped out early, of course, and around 1 am we decided we were ready to hit the rest of 6th street. Against my better judgment, I texted Josh to see if he was working. He replied yes, and told us to come over for some free shots. So we did! And once again, all he asked for payment was a kiss, which I happily gave him! Even though he was kind of a jerk last time, he's still a cutie. We stayed at his bar until close, and then headed home for some much needed rest! All in all, Tuesday was a great night!

Wednesday morning, however, came much too soon. My alarm went off at 8 so I could start calling autoshops. I called work and let them know what was going on, and they got my shift covered for me. After calling several shops, I finally found one that said they could probably finish in a day, so Shane and I drove up to HEB to hide my keys for the towing people. Then we went back to Shane's and slept for most of the day. My car was done around 5, but the traffic was so horrible that I didn't make it back to Shane's till 8! So, what's another night in Austin, huh!?

It was pretty crowded out on 6th for a Wednesday too. Izzie didn't join us this time, so it was just me and Shane. We walked around 6th for a while and then decided to head down to 5th and Congress, where the swankier bars are. Josh and a few of his guy friends ended up meeting us around midnight. And it was really weird, because he was totally acting like my boyfriend the whole night! He kept putting his arm around me, or touching the small of my back when we walked, and I never realized how into PDA he is!! I had to actually tell him at one point that I wasn't comfortable making out in front of Shane and thousands of strangers. Mostly I felt like it was rude to Shane, since she wasn't with anyone. But she was off flirting with other boys most of the time, so there was no harm, no foul.

When the bar closed, the boys were walking Shane and I to our car, when some random drunk guy walked up to our group and just started talking shit to us for no reason. I could feel the testosterone levels increasing so I told the guy to do himself a favor and just keep walking. But of course, he wouldn't listen, and the next thing we knew, Josh and his friends were literally chasing this guy down the street! ((sigh)) Boys...

Shane and I quickly turned and walked in the opposite direction because we didn't wanna be at the scene if the cops showed up. So we drove back around and picked them up. Josh was sporting some bloody knuckles, and he seemed a little too proud of himself. ((rolls eyes))

We decided to hang out with them at one of the guys' apartment afterwards. They told us they had food, which was a lie!! So we didn't stay too long. I said goodbye to Josh and the other guys, and we headed out.

On the way home, I practically begged Shane to come to NY with Evan and I. I just really, really want a girl to shop with, and flirt with boys with and stuff. And Shane is single and we have so much fun together! She said she is really tempted, and she'll try and save some cash, but it's all up in the air. I hope she comes though! It would be so much fun!

The drive home was long and monotonous, but I was in for a couple of surprises when I got home...

Anticipation

Omg Saturday night was so much fun! After work, a bunch of us stayed to play poker again. I didn't get home till 10 am Sunday!! It was me, Mr. S (owner/GM), Misty (bartender and Mr. S's girlfriend), Blinn (owner/manager and The Albanian's cousin), Gavin, Dustin (sort of new door guy), John (door guy who stayed at The Albanian's the night we made out), Nick (bartender who always spreads rumours), Johnny (acoustic guitarist on weekends), and Ali (bartender). Like all those descriptions?? Hehe.
We closed the bar down pretty quickly, surprisingly. And since I've been sick lately, I wasn't gonna drink. I usually have 1 pint of cider while we're counting money. But when we left the back bar, Nick and the door guys were setting up the poker table. So I gave in and poured myself a beer.
I bought in, and stayed in for most of the night, which was awesome, but I eventually lost to Blinn. We even took shots last night! And that's saying something, because we usually stick to the strict beer only policy after hours. But Mr. S and Gavin were shooting whisky, and then Misty and Ali wanted shots, and it all just kind of showballed from there!
And John was flirting with me the entire night! Running his fingers through my hair, and telling me I smelled good...lol. It was quite strange! I mean...he knows about me and The Albanian. I guess he doesn't care? I have noticed that he seems to have taken an interest in me lately. The other day he asked me what I like to do for fun, and what I do on my nights off. He's a really sweet guy though. I like John!
So when we finally went out to the parking lot to leave, he asked, "So what are you doing today?"
"Going home and sleeping till work probably!" I said as I got in my car.

"Well, do you wanna go see a movie, or go out to dinner or something?"

"Well...I have to work at 7, so I doubt I'll have time! I'm only getting like 5 hours of sleep as it is. But...why don't you give me your number, and I'll call you if I wake up?"

So he did. Granted, he was pretty drunk...at least I think he was. It's kinda hard to tell with him. I obviously didn't call him today though. I mean I literally woke up, went to feed my horse and got ready for work. But I'm thinking about calling him tomorrow. I mean, he's really nice, and cute! I always say he looks just like the Prince Charming in Shrek II. SERIOUSLY. Long blonde hair and all. But he's not a metrosexual or anything! Haha. He used to be in the marines. So maybe I will go out with him. We'll see...

I am SO excited about going to New York!! I convinced Sophie to go; I'm gonna buy her a plane ticket, since Evan is buying mine. It's gonna be a blast!!! I invited Melissa and Rikki, she's always been a globe trotter. So hopefully some more people will come, but you know how people are. Nobody ever wants to commit!! Either way, it will still be fun.

I have so much stuff to do tomorrow! I haven't been to the bank in weeks and I've been walking around with like a thousand dollars cash in my wallet! I also need to go get a new drivers license because I lost mine on me and Billy's first date. At least I can take a new picture. My old one was terrible!
I've also started a new work out regime. I'm gonna force myself to eat more healthy and work out at least 4 days a week because when I get to NY, I have to look fab! Especially if I'm gonna be seeing The Model. But, knowing him, and the luck I usually have when it comes to him, I'll be right down the street from his place and we still won't see each other. ((sigh)) I know I shouldn't get my hopes up regarding him like...ever, but it's New York. And the first thing that always comes to mind when I imagine New York is HIM. And I just wish things between The Model and I could go back to normal. Well...I definitely wish more than that, but you know what I mean!
Oh dear, it's 5:25 in the morning! I started this post as soon as I got home from work today, so I should probably get to sleep...what with all the crap I have to do tomorrow. Err...today.

Something Real

Last night there was this show going on that I really, really wanted to see! I think I mentioned it before, because Gavin and Bethany said they were gonna go. Of course, everyone ended up selling out, so I just decided to go solo! I mean it was a Tool cover band! And I LOVE Tool, and I wasn't about to miss this.
So I get there, and none other than Vette Guy walks up behind me! ((sigh)) It was a pretty small venue, and this was the band's first show, so there weren't a whole lot of people there. The band was so awesome though!! I mean I have much respect for any band that can even play a Tool song, let alone 2 whole sets full of them! And they actually sounded good!
Well I ended up hanging out with Vette Guy since I was by myself, and he, apparently was being stalked by an ex-girlfriend. Yes, literally, stalked. She was one of those really in-your-face, all the time kinda girls who just talks and never shuts up. Really sweet, but reallllllly overbearing! And she kept talking my ear off about how Vette Guy is supposedly still madly in love with her. Haha.
Anyways, I've been sick for like a week, so I didn't drink or anything last night, and I hadn't shaved my legs or anything either. Hahaha! But Vette Guy invited me back to his place, so I accepted, but I warned him I wouldn't be staying. Just not a good idea on so many levels. But I figured, a little making out would be harmless, right??
WRONG.
We're goofin' off, having a good time and joking around with each other. And I was teasing him about how much of a player he is. Which, of course, he denied profusely.
"Whatever, you're so good at the game, you don't even know you're playing it." I told him.
"I don't play games! I hate games!" He insisted.
"Ha! Then why do you keep jerking me around so much?" I asked playfully.

I don't really remember exactly what he said after that, except that he suddenly got really mad, and he said he wouldn't ever call me again. I don't understand why exactly, just that I guess the words "jerk around" triggered something, and he got really pissed.

"Dude...why are you so mad? Are you kidding me right now??"
"What did you just say to me? Dude...you have no idea...Whatever. I'm just gonna go to bed. I don't even care."
"Okaaaaaaaay... Why can't you just tell me what's wrong. I wasn't being a bitch, I just wish you would be honest with me sometimes. You never tell me anything!"
"Whatever..."
"Stop saying whatever! Come on! Just tell me what your problem is all of a sudden."
"Whatever..."
"Fine. Well have a good night."
And I left.

I seriously don't get it! I mean, I couldn't count how many times I've teased him about that stuff, and he's never gotten mad. And now, I actually feel bad! ((sigh))
I sent him a text saying I just don't like feeling like a piece of ass (because the whole time I was there, he kept trying to take my clothes off and I kept telling him no). His response was something along the lines of "If that's how you feel, then I'm glad you left. I can get that at any bar, any time. I thought you were real, no drama, but apparently I was wrong. Guess I'll build higher walls next time"
WTF?!?! WHO is being dramatic in this situation!? And WHO'S the one that always gets fucked over and needs to put up walls!?
I think he's got himself confused...
I wrote back, "I just want to feel like I'm not a piece of ass, not just something that happens every few weeks! You make it so hard to get to know you! I mean this is the most emotion you've ever shown me, and it's anger! And you say you're the one who needs higher walls?? Come on! I'm honestly trying here. And I AM real. Most people just can't handle that. So it's cool. I'm used to it."

Of course, he ever responded, and I don't like to end a conversation, or a night for that matter, on bad terms. So I wrote him one more message before I went to bed.
"Look, I'm not trying to bug you, I just don't like to end things on a bad note. So I'm sorry about what I said. Bad choice of words I guess. I just want something real, and I wanna know when it's real! And lately it just seems like I don't know anything anymore...but I shouldn't have projected that on you because I know you don't see me that way. So...again, I'm sorry. Goodnight."

That last message may have been a little much, but at least I know I did everything I could. It's not like I had anything to lose anyways... ((sigh))
I'm just so tired of settling! I mean...why is it so hard to find the whole package!? The nice guys are boring, and/or unattractive, and the attractive guys are assholes and don't give a shit about you. So how do you tell the difference??
Today I spent a good hour looking at modeling shots of The Model online. I miss him. It sucks. I still have this illusion of him in my head as The Perfect Man. And I just can't change that.
Evan and I, and some friends are going to New York City. Very soon! I'm excited, but since we've started planning this trip, I can't get The Model out of my head. I think that's part of the reason why I even went home with Vette Guy last night. But I'm tired of this back and forth. I'm tired of not good enough.

I want something REAL.

Loose Ends

Evan and I hung out the other night, and things were just...weird. I mean it was like neither of us knew exactly how to act, or if the other was thinking yes, no, maybe? So I said "Evan...I think maybe it would be easier on both of us if we just stayed friends" and he agreed. We've just been friends for way too long, and I don't know how else to act with him! So, friends it is.

I'm still waiting to hear about the job in New York City. I want it sooooooo bad! I mean, I know I need to get my life together. I feel like I'm falling in a black hole, and I don't wanna get stuck. And moving to a new city, with a blank slate is just what I need. I hope...

Ok, I know I said I wasn't gonna do this, but I just can't keep my mouth shut! If you're going to comment on my page, please don't patronize me or talk to me like I'm a dirty slut. Because I'm not. I don't sleep around. In fact, the only guys I've ever blogged about sleeping with, are The Model, and Vette Guy. And The Model is an enigma in itself... I would freakin' marry the guy if he asked me! I think every girl has that one guy that they will always go back to, no matter what has happened in the past. And he is that guy for me. Not because he's a model...because he's him! He's fun, and goofy and crazy, and before all the drama went down, he was someone I could just be myself with. Because we didn't have any pretenses. We were just friends...with benefits! As for Vette Guy...he was definitely a mistake, but I really liked him, and I thought it was going somewhere. And nobody is perfect! So why do people have to be so judgmental? I never thought I could receive so many hurtful comments from people just because I wrote something, and I was being honest about it. I wasn't relieved that The Albanian and I didn't have sex. I did not want to sleep with him. I wrote "and no clothes came off" to emphasize the fact that there was passion, but also innocence. So some of you may have misrepresented me in your comments. I'm not asking any of you to like me, and I'm not trying to win anyone's favor. I'm just chronologging my experiences in 20-something life for my own amusement. And I'm learning from my mistakes. Oh, and please don't start comment wars on my page either! As fun as those are to read, they get out of hand pretty quickly.
So if you're enjoying my blog, and you have some advice for me, good or bad as long as you're not bitching me out, then go ahead and comment. Otherwise, seriously?? No one's forcing you to read this. If you're so disgusted by me, then don't.

G's I hope I don't have to do that again...

ANYWAYS . . .
Cecilia's baby shower is this Saturday. Her cousin and I are hosting it. I can't wait, it's gonna be so much fun! I've never really been a baby crazy type person, but I really can't wait till she has her baby! Cecilia is my first really good friend to have one. I was talking to her on the phone yesterday, and I told her she HAS to call me as soon as she goes into labor! She promised I'd be the first one she calls (besides her husband) and that I can be there in the delivery room if the doctors let me. I've seen horses give birth, but never a person. Lol, and I dunno how similar that is, but I'm looking forward to it actually! I told her she might decide she doesn't want me in there with her, but she said "Whatever, bitch! You better show up with some Starbucks!" Hahaha! I so love her! I've missed her too, being pregnant and all. But we're gonna go have some girl time today. I have some shopping to do so she's gonna come to Target with me. And tonight, Melissa and I are gonna have dinner at Friday's before I have to go to work.
So today will be a great day for girl bonding!
